Aspen Ladd's journey in combat sports started at the age of 14. She was a kickboxer, boxer and wrestling before she made her first amateur appearance at WCFC with Jaimee Nievera. Ladd was able to continue building upon her win during Ultimate Reno Combat, where she fought three times in a row. She defeated all her opponents in the first round. Ladd returned to WCFC for the purpose of defeating Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous ruling. Aspen was able to defeat Silvia Babaeghian, and Maddy Simmons before fighting Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9. Cynthia defeated Aspen in a unanimous vote. It left a blemish on her record as an amateur. Ladd rebounded from her loss with a win over Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, which brought her record to 8-1. Aspen made her pro debut in the year 2015, when she signed to Invicta FC. The InvictaFC11 fight was her first professional bout. She dominated Ana Carolina Vidal, securing an 1st round TKO. She won her next fight in the ring against Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission and went up to Bantamweight for her next fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen made use of her wrestling prowess to beat McGill in third round TKO. Aspen then faced Jessica Hoy, at Invicta FC 18. She fought Hoy in a catchweight (138.1lb) due to the fact that Ladd was not able to weigh in. Aspen still dominated Hoy to finish her in second round with a TKO. She dominated Lina and ground-and-pounded her for a second-round TKO victory. Then, in her third fight she overcame Tonya Evinger even more impressively. Ladd beat Evinger within the first minute and received a bonus for her performance during the night. Invicta FC fighter Sijara Eugenes in a UFC Fight Night dos Anjos-Lee fight with Eubanks of Sijara, was the first fight she had in any major way. Ladd took home the unanimous decision after a great back-and forth fight with the fighters got an award of Fight of the Night bonuses. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie ended Ladd's winning streak with just 16 seconds. in the 3rd round on UFC in ESPN 7, she defeated Yana Kunitskaya. In a match that was a replacement in the UFC, Norma Dumont was her opponent. It was a unanimous decision in her favor.
